Haleigh McDonald is a tenacious Mass Media major with an emphasis in journalism and minor in psychology. With a creative mind, writing is a creative outlet and that is why her career goal is to find work travelling and writing for a media or news source. 

Kambree Rhodes is a student who is willing to work hard to get all of the facts right, no matter how big or small the story is. She is majoring in mass media & wants to work in journalism. She hopes to one day travel the world to pick up news stories. Kambree is from Lincoln, Nebraska & loves to spend time with her family when she isn’t playing basketball.

Khalil Wilson is a Business Marketing major with the intentions to one day  own and resell homes, cars, shoes and clothes in high fashion and luxury, Khalil specializes in sales and communications. Khalil has a history of salesmen jobs and plans to attend campus events and use resources around to gain the necessary skills needed to be the best marketer he can be. He believes in helping the community and giving back as much as possible and providing a positive image for youth. He enjoys family and friends and spending time with the ones you love and watching movies with his family.

You will not meet another person like Darian because he is an odd ball and is very playful with peers since life is better this way.  Darian believes in fair treatment of anyone he comes across.  His  goal is to  create his own  mixed martial arts  organization  that pays the talent fairly and accordingly and exterminate weight cutting to remove size advantages of certain fighters which makes the studying of Entrepreneurship necessary. Mass Media is also a minor of his because of its skill set being useful in the world of business.

Vencent Allen is a first generation college student at Washburn University. He is hardworking and pursuing a degree in Mass Media specializing in Advertising but is flexibly and can adopt to any job that is giving to him. He was a warm heart for anyone in need and will always be open for anyone who needs a buddy to talk to.

  Katie Hampton is a first-generation college student at Washburn University in Topeka, KS. She has an interest in advertising, writing, and editing videos/photos. Katie loves watching television, reading psychological thrillers, and eating carbs.

Daniel Webb is an Air Force veteran with a wide range of experience in customer service-related fields.  Daniel honed his teamwork skills serving as a firefighter in the military and perfected his interpersonal communication abilities as a meteorologist.  He also developed superb leadership abilities during this time.  Daniel constantly strives to improve any work area he is a part of, streamlining processes and procedures and developing highly functioning teams.  In his spare time, Daniel can be found hunting or fishing, working on his classic Corvette, or just binging TV.

Serina Weathers is a goal driven student working towards being a future attorney. Serina specializes in public relations management, who regularly maintains an internship in her desired field. She is a strong believer in a cohesive workplace with constant communication between students. Serina regularly advocates for mental health for the students of Washburn University. Serina enjoys a lazy day in bed watching criminal minds or wandering around target.

Seth Cross is a talented young business professional working his way up the ladder in the realm of public relations and marketing. He is a goal-oriented, driven, and focused individual who will stop at nothing to get the job done. Seth loves to help others climb the ladder to success as well and believes that the best kind of days are those that are spent helping those he loves. He has two semesters and counting of experience working for marketing professionals. The few times he is not hard at work, Seth is most likely playing the guitar and spending time with family or friends.

          Connor Deffebaugh is a very fun kid who likes to spend time with his family and friends. In his free time Connor enjoys listening to music and playing video games. Connor loves twitter it is his favorite app to give him a laugh and keep up with what is going on in the world today. One day Connor wants to be a sportscaster and broadcast basketball games all across the country.

Christina Noland is an award-winning digital design specialist with over four years of experience with the Adobe Suite. Working to separate herself from others within her field, Christina is always willing to take on new projects, clients, learn new things and help others in need.

Glorianna Noland is an award-winning visual communications designer with certified skills and a hunger to learn more. She possesses 4+ years of design experience in both printed media and promotional design.

Matthew Wyer is a creative writer who spends a lot of his time in the clouds trying to imagine his next story to write down. He often likes going on walks and disconnecting from this what seems to be an incessantly plugged-in society. He likes hanging with friends and laughing, along with trying to make others laugh. Matthew is always trying to spark a new idea and innovation in everyday life as an attempt to keep things exciting. Some would call him a little weird, but he prefers eccentric.

Who is Elle Barrett? Elle Barrett is a hard-working young woman who has experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Elle works well independently but also thrives working in a team. Her goal is to work her way to the top of creative advertising and  can't  wait for the day she gets there. In her free time, Elle  looks forward to Sunday Night Football and is always up for a burger.

Who is Hannah March? Hannah March is a thriving student who attends Washburn University. Her life long career plan is to graduate college with a degree in Mass Media and pursue a writing and editing career. She reads and writes as much as she can outside of her everyday necessities. Hannah regularly tests her abilities in the Mass Media world. She is always trying to keep up with the society and browses media to expand her knowledge on current events. 

Andrew Mercer is determined and competitive. He is the second oldest of five. He has three sisters and one brother. His interests include basketball, creating and editing videos and traveling. Andrew’s expertise is in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud applications. Andrew currently works at Se2 in Topeka, Ks. He works in mail operations and has been there for two years. Andrew’s goal is to become a video editor for a main movie studio and wants to continue to work hard to reach his goal. Andrew is determined and good at overcoming obstacles, as he has gone through two heart surgeries, wrist surgery and many other difficulties, but is still one of the hardest working people.

Taylor Long is a tech-savvy and highly motivated student. She is majoring in mass media with a minor in business and has chose creative advertising as her emphasis. One day, Taylor hopes to be able to travel the world while enjoying her passion of designing websites and working with social media.

Kris Wood is on staff for Young Life at a local High School in Topeka Kansas. Kris specialized in the planning and preparation of each weekly meeting but can also run them effectively. He utilized the knowledge of Microsoft software to aid in his preparation and execution of the meetings. Kris is an avid believer in community benefits someone in every single part of their life, that is why he tries to pursue friendships with the people that attend Young Life. He loves the outdoors and physical exercise but also can binge watch a good Netflix show. 

Hannah Willey is a student-athlete who excels on the basketball court and the classroom. Hannah has worked for a school district developing a website and social media accounts. She spent many hours editing, writing, and posting on the website to keep the public and the school district informed. Because of her experience of being a student-athlete, she thrives in areas such as time management, leadership, and social skills. Hannah enjoys regularly scrolling through social media outlets and listening to podcasts.

Mariah Rollwagen is a woman of many interests and changing career paths. A longtime passion for dance has created new learning and teaching opportunities for her as she pursues a new path. Her love for the horror genre has pushed her to explore and study the world of film and video. She hopes to one day create a family of pets to accompany her on her future film adventures.

Quay’Shawn Akins             Enjoys the game of basketball most of the time by watching highlights or current games shown on television. Has found his interest in studying for Mass Media at the Washburn University. Quay’ has been a part of the College Prep Academy for almost 8 years from since he’d been in middle school, 3 of 4 students are also involved, and a big provider for our schools. As he is an Uprising Junior Quay’ Still lives in his hometown Topeka, Kansas and is 11 of 12 siblings split between from sides of his mom (11) and dad (3). 

  Something Different Samantha Peters is a hardworking experienced Microsoft Office Specialist. These advanced skills has allowed her to perfect her interest of Audio and Visual. Samantha has an extensive background in Public Relations and Communication while attending Washburn University Full-Time.
