TULSI GABBARD 2020

TULSI GABBARD 2020

While many of the 2020 presidential candidates get plenty of attention in the media, there are a few, up to this point, who have been relatively ignored. Candidates like Andrew Yang, Tulsi Gabbard, Amy Kobluchar, and others, have not been given proper representation in the media. In these blogs I will be discussing Tulsi Gabbard’s campaign up to this point in the 2020 presidential election.

Tulsi Gabbard is the first female combat veteran to run for president of the United States. After 9/11, Gabbard joined the US military and served two tours in the Middle East. When she returned from active duty, she ran for congress in Hawaii. This is Gabbard’s 6th year serving as Hawaii’s congresswoman.

When it comes to domestic policies, Tulsi leans far to the left. Her policies closely align with Bernie Sanders. Where Gabbard strays from the rest of the candidates is in foreign policy. One of the big issues that Tulsi is running on is ending regime change wars. She believes that these wars do more harm than good for the American people. She will use the trillions that we have spent on these wars to fund many of the reforms, including medicare for all, that she believes in.

Tulsi Gabbard is an anti-establishment candidate. She has gone against the Democratic National Convention (DNC) many times and has made it clear that she is not a partisan hack. She believes in what is best for the people, not the best for the party. The DNC is scared of a candidate like Gabbard purely because they know they cannot control her. Because of this, Gabbard’s campaign faces a huge uphill battle.
