Professionalism: Clothing

When it comes to professionalism people like to believe it has more to do with the action of one, rather than the appearance of the same. That being so, it's not always true, and often within many corporations, businesses, and company’s it's not the case at all. Many owners, or those simply in charge may underestimate an individual by the clothes that they wear. Obviously people must be held to a standard. You can’t have an employee coming to work with the same clothes that they have worn 4 days in a row without washing. Not so much for how unfashionable it is, but rather how unsanitary this may become. That is a safety issue which is very understandable, and should be enforced. The issue im speaking on is that of one’s cleanliness, but how it can be assumed one’s productivity will lessen because they don’t wear a turtleneck instead of a tie to their profession. When the reality of it is, they work at a call office where they will never make face to face contact with their customers. Obviously there are exceptions, but we’re not talking about the real estate agent who's trying to make houses into homes. The issue is with those whose productivity has no correlation with their appearance .
