Glossier Case Study: The Beginning

by Lauryn Massey

Ever heard of the makeup brand Glossier? Formed from beauty blogger Emily Weiss, Glossier was initially started with only a few products. The website design, packaging, and social media all created a specific brand package that made Glossier what it is today. Glossier now is known for pink minimalist packaging, their huge social media following, and a simplistic website that makes it easy for direct-to-consumer shopping.

Although they have a few brick and mortar stores, the brand lives online. With over 2.4 million Instagram followers and valued at over $1 billion dollars, it is easy to see that any brand can become successful, if they know how to market to young people online. Follow along my blog to look at a case study of Glossier as a brand, including influencer marketing, analyzing a specific campaign, and learning more about how the brand started.
